Wellbeing & Growth
Today, I went on a one-day trip with my family to the Soča Valley. It was beautiful and hot, but thankfully we refreshed ourselves by swimming in an ice-cold river. The experience was amazing. I've realized I enjoy swimming in rivers (that are clean). Continue Reading
My 7 Day Running Challenge
I'm going to try a 7 day running challenge. The idea is to run every single day for seven days - quite straightforward, right? I want to try this not because I won't be able to do it, but it's just something to spice things up. The second reason why I am doing this challenge is to have something to write about daily. So if you aren't loving my running journey coverage, it's your loss. Continue Reading
Today, I wanted to see how far I could push myself. So I did a 5km run as fast as I could. It was tough, and I thought I would be able to go a bit faster. I ran 5km in 26 minutes and 38 seconds. I know that if I dedicated more of my life to running, I could easily improve this time, but I'm happy with the current result considering the training done.
Reconnecting in a Disconnected World: A Personal Reflection
Some posts on this blog are personal, while others are hopefully more useful in nature. This one just might be both. I want to share these "tips" because I do struggle with loneliness from time to time, especially more recently. For the past weeks, perhaps even months, I've been struggling quite a bit, not feeling at my best. One of the significant issues was the post-college shock when I realized that I'm becoming more and more of an adult. Not that I don't like the responsibilities, but life has changed, and I have to adapt to it. Continue Reading
For the past few days, I've been enjoying some TED talks. During my 7-Day Internet Consumption Reset, I wanted to find an educational medium that I could watch due to my YouTube restriction. Most of the TED talks I've watched are not only inspirational but also funny and interesting. Continue Reading
Task Separation: A Powerful Tool to Simplify Life
The separation of tasks is one of the most powerful tools to help me manage my anxiety, improve my confidence, and care a bit less about what other people think of me. The idea is still present with me on an almost daily basis, even after first encountering it weeks ago in a book by Ichiro Kishimi and Fumitake Koga called 'The Courage to Be Disliked'. Continue Reading
What I Learned from My 7 Day Internet Consumption Reset
For the past seven days, I've been abstaining from internet consumption like specific news websites and social media. Continue Reading
Take Time to Sit with Your Thoughts
While listening to a podcast, a certain thought resonated with me: “No one sits with their thoughts; everyone is always keeping their mind busy, playing Candy Crush”. Continue Reading
Day 3 Update: 7 Day Internet Consumption Reset
This is a status update for my ongoing Internet Consumption Reset. Continue Reading
"It's been a couple of weeks since I started my 10k km run preparations. I'm primarily focused on Zone 2 training for now. I began with a comfortable 10-25km per week of running. I'm also attempting to maintain 2-3 weight lifting sessions per week, which can make my schedule rather busy. The challenge with Zone 2 training is ego. EVERYONE seems to pass you by, but you just have to moderate your pace and maintain a steady, solid run. Continue Reading
UAE Ice Baths and the Power of Experimentation
I've been following the Tour de France for the past few years. This year, the race hasn't disappointed, but in the early stages, the UAE team "shocked" everyone by using ice baths to cool down their riders right after each stage. A lot of people were curious about the reason for this. Continue Reading
To Learn is to Apply
School is a system, quite a bad one, and like most bad systems it puts a lot of energy into conforming and shaping us in ways that feel so unnatural to a child. Looking back at those years, it seems scary how this system works, seeing the cogwheel turn and shaping the raw talent into anxiety-inducing, crippled, and fragile human beings. Continue Reading
100 Days of Blogging
It's almost 10 p.m. I'm currently at the seaside, enjoying my vacation. It's hot, and a fan called 'Giovanni' is blowing in my face. It's calm, and I feel good. Continue Reading
How I Meditate
Ok, you might have heard a few things here and there about this weird practice called meditation. You might have an interesting picture in mind when you hear that word, like weird people with long gray hair and a hippie-like vibe telling you to relax and breathe and whatever... In a way, I hate that representation of the word because it's so cliché and serves no purpose. I think yoga has a similar problem. Continue Reading
Nabeel's Principles
I have no idea how I stumbled upon Nabeel's website, but I have had his Principles page bookmarked for a while now, and I've just decided to go through it again. Continue Reading
3 Lessons After Graduation by John Fish
These are just my own notes on John Fish's video called "3 Lessons for Life After Graduation". I wrote them for myself, but I realize that someone else might find them valuable as well. Continue Reading
Exploring Health
I've been on my health journey for the past four years, and throughout that time, I've tried numerous programs and routines, learning valuable lessons along the way. Recently, I started reading Outlive: The Science and Art of Longevity (GoodReads) by Peter Attia MD, which has inspired me to share my current routines, as well as the various health experiments I plan to undertake.
